June 10 - Checker & the Bluetones
Checker and the Bluetones is one of the premier bands in the Cedar Valley. They have played many of the prestigious events in the Cedar Valley such as Friday’loo, College Hill Arts Festival, My Waterloo Days, Sturgis Falls Days, Iowa City Jazz Festival, and Waterloo Center for the Arts Rooftop Jazz, among many small town summer celebrations. They have performed regularly at Jameson’s, Isle of Capri, Voodoo Lounge, The Hub, Spicoli’s and the Screaming Eagle.
Known as an outstanding vocal band, they are led vocally by Jovita Long. Jovita is a cross between Janis Joplin and Ella Fitzgerald and she has the versatility that has awed audiences throughout the Cedar Valley. Joining her on vocals is guitarist, Iowa and Minnesota Rock and Roll Hall of Famer, John Thomson, with leader and keyboardist, Mike (Checker) Michalicek, and funky bassist, John Baskerville. Rounding out the Bluetones is drummer, Steve Mark and saxophonist, Tom Barry.

June 17 - Snozzberries
We are happy to welcome this 80's classic rock & roll band back to the Live to 9 stage on June 17th. They have gained a regional buzz with their classic or "retro" rock & roll sound. The energetic and entertaining performances fit a wide variety of venues and attract audiences of all ages. They will be performing in the Cedar Valley's finest venues and outdoor festivals this year.
Whether you like to sing along or just figure out which song you forgot the lyrics to already, this group will make you wish you were back in the 80's in your parachute pants and Converse high tops. So roll up those pant legs and get down to Sturgis Park for a great time with great friends.

July 8 - Soul Fusion
Soul Fusion is a four piece funk, rock, soul and blues band from Waterloo, Iowa. Their performances blend original songs with classic covers. Soul Fusion’s energetic and entertaining shows are enjoyed by multi-age audiences.
For the past ten years the band has been regularly performing at venues, festivals, and events throughout the Midwest. The group consists of Erik Bjorn (lead vocals and guitar), Tom E. Cooper III (bass guitar and vocals), Luke Rathe (drums and vocals) and Brian Hayes (vocals and percussion).
Soul Fusion’s second CD, It’s Cruel, was released October 2006. It consists of ten original songs. The album was produced and recorded by Tom Tatman at Catamount Studios in Cedar Falls, Iowa. Visit www.soulfusionband.com for more information.

July 22 - Cliffhanger
Cliffhanger is a rock band that has been together since 1983. The band was formerly known as CB & Company. Two of the band’s initial members are still in tact from way back then. Cliff Berinobis (CB) is the founder of this group starting out in the early 60’s in Hawaii and then coming over to the mainland and played in bands that opened up for national acts such as The Royal Guardsmen, The Box Tops and many others. His style of guitar playing is truly amazing and will definitely captivate you. Cliff’s son in law Tony Freitag is the other original member in the group and plays the drums. The bass player, who is also known as Chris Starbuck, has been with the band for 10 years or so. Ryan Saul is the lead singer and delivers a high energy stage show. Scott Runyan is the most recent addition to Cliffhanger and rocks the guitar along with Cliff.

August 12 - Fat Cat
Fatcat, four musicians from Waterloo, Cedar Falls, & Denver Iowa. Influenced by a diversity of styles, have come together to form a distinctive sound. Fatcat gravitates towards "Blues Rock" adding flavor to the classics we enjoy so much and crossing the boundaries between traditional blues & guitar driven rock. Fatcat shows pack a "One-Two Punch" first it's their "Jam Band" style where the good time vibes flow off the stage. Then it's their "Home Town" attitude that ties it all together and makes you thirsty for more.
